What's the best beach parking in La Marsa?
Three options from cheapest to most convenient: (1) Free along Avenue Hédi Saïdi (5-min walk to the beach, always spots before 10:00). (2) The public Plage parking lot at the end of Av. Taïeb Mehiri — free, gets full on summer weekends by 11:00. (3) Paid valet at Saf Saf or Le Plaza if you're dining there — about 5 TND. Parking on the corniche (Av. Habib Bourguiba) is metered 1-2 TND/h, free after 19:00.
La Marsa or Sidi Bou Said — which to base in?
La Marsa is the practical, livable choice: walkable corniche, dozens of restaurants and cafés, easy parking, beach access, supermarkets, and 4-5 km closer to the airport than Sidi Bou Said. Sidi Bou Said is the postcard — smaller, prettier, but logistically tighter (parking, fewer restaurants for dinner, almost no shops). Many of our expat and long-stay clients live in La Marsa and visit Sidi Bou Said as a day trip.
How far is Tunis-Carthage airport from La Marsa?
15 km / 15-20 minutes via the La Goulette road. From the TUN arrivals hall: 5 min car pickup + 15 min drive + 5 min parking = under 30 minutes door-to-door including bags. Worst case is 17:00-19:00 weekdays — add 15 minutes. The drive is fully lit at night, safe, and well-signed.

Where is the La Marsa weekly market or farmers' market?
There's no single farmers' market in the traditional sense, but: (1) The Saturday morning market at Place du 7 Novembre near the Saf Saf — small, organic produce, jams, artisan bread. (2) The fresh-fish market at Sidi Daoud (drive 10 min north) — open daily, mornings best. (3) Carrefour Market on Av. Taïeb Mehiri for everyday shopping, free underground parking. For ceramics + souvenirs, drive to Nabeul (1 h via A1).
Is Saturday traffic on the La Marsa corniche bad?
Saturday afternoons 16:00-20:00 in summer the corniche (Av. Habib Bourguiba, beach side) is heavily congested — locals out, restaurants busy, valet queues at Saf Saf and La Closerie. Pro tip: park inland on Av. Hédi Saïdi and walk the corniche. Sundays are calmer. Winter Saturdays: no issue.
